Bronx Loaf is supported by a board of three people who have dedicated their professional lives to improving urban education in the 21st century.
Matthew Pilarski is a Senior Director at Springpoint where he supports partners in implementing innovative systems and structures and builds capacity at the district, CMO, and school level. Previously, he worked with TNTP to help lead efforts to recruit, select, and train school leaders through the San Francisco PLUS program. Matthew was an Instructional Support Leader with Chicago Public Schools, working with school leaders around management practices and teacher effectiveness. Matthew also worked as a teacher and a school leader for eleven years in New York City, in a school where over 90 percent of students qualified for free and reduced-price lunch. Matthew started his career teaching 7th grade English. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Secondary English Education from New York University, and a Masters of Education in School Leadership from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
